“What really struck me, listening to residents’ stories, is that they’ve used simple common sense to improve their areas, things that were not big projects.” – Nick Hurd MP, Minister for Civil Society, May 21st 2010 after a visit to PDT in Church Street.
PDT was formed in 1998 by local residents who remain at the heart of everything we do. A significant number of PDT staff were born or continue to live in the local area and our Board of Trustees is made up of people who live and work in Paddington.
Local volunteers are involved in a wide range of activities from elected representation on neighbourhood forums through to helping plan and deliver community festivals. Our work is informed by local people telling us what matters most to them and all our projects enable local people to lead and be involved in the quality of their area and lives.
PDT manages the Stowe Centre, a youth enterprise and community centre on the Harrow Road. The Stowe Centre provides a venue for a wide range of community and resident activities including health and fitness, meetings and conferences and is available to hire to local organisations and residents for parties and special events.
For more information about hiring space at the Stowe Centre call Judith Mitchell on 020 7266 8258 or email her.
