Our services Community health Community Theatre Free Drama Workshops Free Drama Workshops to a Local Theatre Production After three months of hard work and creativity, members of the Queens Park Community Theatre have given local residents a preview of their new play, Walking Away. The performers, who are all local residents, have been working with a playwright and theatre facilitator on a large and exciting piece of work, focusing on life on the local estate and the many different ways that mental health impacts on our day to day lives. The read-through focused on several key characters going through difficult times including a woman with depression whose son is in and out of jail, a man having to leave his home due to regeneration and a girl experiencing hallucinations. Each character was searching for a way to get through their situation. The performances were funny at times, sad, touching and a real reflection of life for many in our community. The group will be working more on the piece over the next few months, leading up to a big performance just before Christmas – so watch this space! If you are interested in being part of Queens Park Community Theatre we would love to hear from you. We meet every Thursday at Lydford Commmunity Hall W9 3EW from 12:30 – 15:00.
