Black History Month is your chance to discover and celebrate the achievements of the African and Caribbean communities in Westminster and the wider UK. This October Westminster City Council will be hosting a series of free events.

Patchwork banner workshops
Join WCC to create a patchwork banner and celebrate pride in the community. 3 sessions are available, run by experienced tutors, and all ages are welcome.

- Wednesday 16 October 2019, 11:30am to 1:30pm at Queens Park Library, 666 Harrow Road, W10 4NE
- Thursday 24 October 2019, 11:30am to 1:30pm at Westminster Adult Education Service, Lupus Street, SW1V 3AT
Join us to learn a new skill, celebrate the community and showcase your creativity. Completed banners will be displayed at the Black History Month exhibition at Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street.

As well as these events, throughout Black History Month, an exhibition celebrating Westminster’s diverse communities will be displayed on the ground floor of Westminster City Hall at 64 Victoria Street. The exhibition will feature leading figures from the Black, African, Asian and Caribbean communities in Westminster from the 16th century to the present day. All are welcome, no booking required.
