Over seventy organisations were represented on Wednesday when PDT held a welcome and training session for the charities who had been awarded an EQUIP grant.
EQUIP grants in West and Central London are managed by PDT. Charities and small organisations can apply for up to £20,000 to carry out projects that help people get into a job or a training place. The funding comes from the European Social Fund and the Education and Skills Funding Agency.
Over 130 organisations applied for funds in this, the second round of EQUIP and 74 were successful. Their work will help people who find it hard to get a job: older people; refugees; some BAME groups; disabled people, young people, carers. Some projects will teach vocational skills like sewing, driving or roles in construction. Others help participants with job applications and CVs.
The EQUIP welcome and briefing session was held in the newly built Westborne Park Baptist Church. There will be a further round of EQUIP funding in late Spring.
