PDT Training

This qualification is suitable for learners who are interested in developing the skills and knowledge that will lead to meaningful employment in the Early Years Sector in England.  The Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner is a work based qualification, which is ideal for learners who are 19+ years old.

City & Guilds have not set additional entry requirements for this qualification.

What is involved in studying this course?

You will be required to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of early years education and care, including that you can support and promote children's early education and development, plan and provide effective care, teaching and learning that enables children to progress and prepares them for school, make accurate and productive use of assessment, develop effective and informed practice, safeguard and promote the health, safety and welfare of children, work in partnership with the key person, colleagues, parents and/or carers or other professionals.

Duration and Delivery

The course will be delivered over 44 weeks with a combination of class-room teaching,  practical sessions at a place of work and support session.
Progression
Upon achievement of this qualification learners will become Practitioners in their settings and will be able to progress onto a Level 4 qualification or Access course.
Additional Information
This course would also suit learners who want to progress to further learning to take on a position of leadership within the setting. Advanced Learning Loans is available for this course if appropriate.

• This qualification is suitable for progression into employment as an Early Years Educator or for progressing into Higher Education.
