An ambitious action plan to improve air quality has been developed by Westminster City Council which is already leading the way in tackling air pollution. The plan outlines actions for further improving air quality including reducing emissions from buildings and development and encouraging a shift away from polluting vehicles. Have your say on this action plan.
On 20 January 2020, the council are holding the first air quality action day of the New Year. They will be aiming to tackle engine idling in the West End, and will meet on the corner of Cavendish Square and Henrietta Place at 10am. From there, the council will comb the area on foot in teams of volunteers and air marshals in search of idling drivers to talk to. Come along to make a difference to air quality in Westminster.
