The Employment team at PDT celebrated the award of additional Lottery funding for the SWEET project by holding a cross partner conference.
Participants from the seven organisations that work together to help women from ethnic minorities find jobs and training came together at the end of October to discuss best ways to move the project on for a further three years. Topics discussed included: how to remove barriers (walls) between women and jobs; how to work in an environmentally sound way; how to understand some of the ‘benefits traps’ that stop women getting into work and how to make sure staff look after their own physical and mental health so they can go on doing a good job helping others.
The group also came together for a team photo making the Lottery sign.
SWEET stands for ‘Supporting Women into Employment, Enterprise and Training’.
